MICROFLUIDIC CHIPS
Protea has established a strong design and production capability for microfluidic applications in protein, biology and chemistry research areas. We use fused silica substrate for our microfluidic chips to permit quality in situ observations of your experiments. Our microfluidic products are produced using both state-of-the-art photolithographic methods and other proprietary techniques developed in our labs. Our devices enable many diverse research applications, including capillary electrophoresis, cell culturing and autodilution. Each device has multiple uses, providing maximum opportunity to obtain useful data. We proudly offer Upchurch fittings as optional accessories for all devices.
DOUBLE T
- Our Double T chip (TT) comes with two identical TT channels. To enhance the ease of your experiments, each structure is accompanied with a ruler and a dye concentration calibration channel.
- The channels are of a standard depth of 20µm (±15%) and width of 100µm (±15%) and 200µm TT length
- There are two options for connections: a standard reservoir of 80uL volume or a connection for 360µm fused silica tubing.

MIXER AND DILUTOR |

Our Mixer and Dilutor devices are designed for fluid researchers interested in conducting mixing experiments involving different fluids or in performing crystallization studies. The chip dimensions are standard, but yet large enough to handle high flow rates (up to 1uL/min). Our proprietary flow restrictor can be used to capture grown crystals while allowing different media to pass through. |

CELL RETAINER AND CELL CULTURE
Our Cell Retainer and Cell Culture devices are designed for cell researchers interested in conducting cellular experiments by changing media or drug candidates and growth conditions. Dimensions are standard but yet big enough to accommodate many cells. CUSTOM CHIP DESIGN
Protea has pioneered a new way to facilitate providing custom Microfluidic Chips. Utilizing our UMOSTM (Universal Microfluidic Ordering System), any researcher can submit their design for production. Best of all, there is only a two (2) chip minimum order and turnaround time is typically 7-10 business days upon receipt of order. We can supply your laboratory with additional information to help you make an outstanding publication, including SEM images, profilometer scans, digital microscope images, as well as rulers and names for image identification. Simply add any of these on as an additional request. |
